The Painter

I live and work in Portland OR.  I grew up in Rockville, Maryland and graduated from Thomas S. Wooton H.S., Macalester College, and The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. After receiving a Post-Baccalaureate in Chicago, I moved to New York for the first time.

Two years later, in 2001, I replaced the skyscrapers of Manhatten with the towering Evergreens of the Pacific Northwest. Both the humanity of his experiences in the city and the nature that surrounded him in Eugene influenced my work intensely.

"My work addresses relationships. I believe that as individuals, we are composed of our relationship to all things: ourselves, our family and friends, society and nature, our belief or disbelief in GodIn short,  the vast and various realms of personal experience. The continuous string of experience of relations forms within each of us a network that some might label "mind." But what is mind, and how do we come to a better understanding of our own?  These are questions I attempt to answer in my work. This site is a compilation of my life's work. Hence, it is a work-in-progress and will continue to grow indefinitely. The links lead to the various galleries. My work has been divided chronologically; the oldest work can be found under the Maryland link, the most recent work under the Portland link. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please feel free to contact me.
